Shitloads of cold af pure water does me more good for energy & feel-good than just about anything else tbh. lol

That’s really true! I try to drink a lot of water

Sencha green tea and mint tea do wonders for me.

I don't drink much herbal (I used to when I was hospitalized, as a complement to the main drug I was taking, since I took much synthetic drugs at that time). Once in a blue moon, I drink healthy but nasty tasting natural green tea that tasted like a fucking toothpaste.

Imo not all chinese meds are good. Basically, things like animal nails, horn, claws, fur and other weird shit are not proven to be effective at all. Theyre made in the same compound substance as human hair and nails, keratin. Although, I tried a very good Chinese herbal ointment that made my wart flattened and disappear in one day.

Be careful, some herbal stuff have made more harm than good. I heard someone dying from it. Be sure not to replace your doctor meds with it.

Oh, cats claw is just the name for a plant, yeah i wouldnt try anything like ground up horns and stuff and if I had meds to take I wouldnt swap for sure. Yeah some herbal compounds/chemicals can cause blindness and all kinds of awful shit and are basically poison lmao, you always gotta do your homework beforehand!

@Boss yeo thats true! Doing research and going to diet/food experts help a lot. Thats a relief that you wouldnt swap stuff to prescribed meds. And oh, yeah cats claw a plant, but Im talking bout the weird (and illegal) side of Chinese meds (why rhinos were declining, because their horns "have" medicinal properties, and many wild animal parts). There are also some cases that when medicinal compounds got mixed, it can result to toxic shit or neutralize useful compounds. I hope your herbal journey goes well!

That’s fascinating and I should look more into that, because I do take multiple tinctures at once sometimes!!

All plants are toxic. If you go past the recommended dose you can win a ticket to heaven. Logically the concentration of these toxins varies according to the plant, being some safer than others.

While the West does look to Ayurvedic and Eastern tradition as being a bit backwards, many modern medicines were discovered in plants. That being said, the "Call to Ancient Wisdom," is mainly a marketing strategy. Sure, caffeine will spike your heartrate, I quite enjoy tea and coffee, but, like any other drug, you grow a tolerance to it. Plenty of water, reasonable exercise, and a balanced diet is truly the best natural thing to put in your body. However, if you need medication, I would never tell you, or recommend, that you disregard the opinions of medical professionals. If you choose to supplement medications with naturopathic medicine, that's your decision, but I'd recommend doing research on what you supplement with to make sure it won't negatively interact with your medication.

Western and Eastern medicine may be used harmoniously with another, they are two different paradigms, with the latter being focusing on curative and the former focusing on preventative. Naturopathy and alternative medicine has less evidence, trials, and science to back its claims (and also less regulations), because it's not funneled $$ by pharmaceutical companies. That said harmful side effects and bad experiences are widely and well documented. I'm not a chemophobe by any means, but I try to go through life using few prescription medication as possible...sometimes sh*t happens though and no shame if you have to go this route. I agree with the previous commenter, the tried and true balanced diet, healthy water intake, daily exercise, and low stress is the best bet for a healthy life.

but on the topic of tea, I use it mainly to alleviate/prevent digestive system ailments. Peppermint tea is good for acid reflux. Ginger based teas with probiotics soothe the stomach. Turmeric and black pepper is good for the mind- and believed to be behind why India has among the lowest dementia rates in the world. I think I'm gonna brew a pot of turmeric peach tea right now...

That turmeric pepper is sounding amazing! I would hope it could offset the supposedly proven dementia connection to diphenhydramine (benadryl)

Oolong Tea. It's practically like Drinking Coffee, but not as bad as drinking too much coffee.

I’ll look into that thanks!
