I didn't start smoking until I was 28. Only thing I smoked before that was weed. I tried it out of a combination of curiosity as well as being at a low point in my life, that I felt like dying a little faster. Depending on my mood I'd either smoke slowly or chain a pack or two a day.
In terms of benefits, it was actually one of the few things that helped lower my anxiety and it became a great stress aid.
In terms of addiction, it varies. There are times when I feel I can do without one, whereas others where I feel my life depends on one.
That being said, it wasn't all just for the sake of it, I had an ulterior. I am a firm believer in alternative medicines and holistic treatments when it comes to diseases like cancer. I've seen first hand how Chemotherapy worked and honestly that shit does more harm than good to people especially when your relative's Oncologist, may or may not have diluted it to save money on it, risking killing said relative among most complications. The shit kills your immune system to the point where even the common cold will kill you and even if you managed to lick it all, if you're still living a stressful life, it will always come back and will not stop until you are dead.
In this case, I found out that Chlorophyll among most things, may be the key to not only help quit smoking, but not need it for good.
First and foremost. Contrary to popular belief, it's not the tobacco or the nicotine that kills you. Most cigarettes, especially brand ones, both leaf and paper alike are laced with various chemicals, which on top of nicotine, is the source of every disease you can get from smoking. The only exception being the Native Brand Cigarettes. Not sure if they have them in the states, but in Canada, the Natives are exempt from the usual laws including the laws regarding the manufacture of certain products. Including Tobacco products. Basically the paper and the leaves they use are not chemically treated. As a kid I always wondered how Natives were able to live so long despite smoking more than most people. It's because even their version of cigarettes can't kill them. The nicotine on it's own is mostly dangerous to the human heart if used in excess. It's the other chemicals like Arsenic that are the real killers.
Second off, regarding smoking and hard drugs. It's not a mental addiction, it's a physical one. So needless to say, get rid of the physical part of it. That's where the Chlorophyll comes in. I first learned this, when I went back on Wheatgrass years back. I smoked for a year. Just long enough to intentionally damage my lungs or other parts of my body. A month of drinking wheatgrass, after one puff of a cigarette, it felt like I tried a cigarette for the first time again. The Chlorophyll in the Wheatgrass literally cleared out anything physical pertaining to the smoke and was proof enough that that stuff was powerful enough to reduce cancer. Nowadays I just cut the middle man and just get pure Chlorophyll.
It is super messed up that they put often times not fully tested chemicals in products for consumption all the time. If you havent seen it I think you would like the documentary Stink
Also contrary to popular belief, vaping is not a healthy alternative. You're literally trading one set of dangerous chemicals for another.

I mixed Chlorophyll with White Tea, as part of an attempt to make a health drink. Something that if done right could restore the body. When I started drinking it, I started to crave Cigarettes less and less. Much like the Wheatgrass I mentioned in the previous comment, I think it pushes the physical need for Nicotine and the other chemicals laced in smokes, out of the body. I'm still jittery and anxious, but that's mainly from the caffeine in the tea.
I used to take chlorophyll tablets I believe! Or maybe that was spirulina. I will have to try that with white tea!
@Boss Tablets don't do squat. I tried them with Wheatgrass, minimal result. Best results in the case of Chlorophyll is the liquid drops.

While I didn’t try smoking(nor do I ever plan to),my experience with second hand smoke was more than enough for me to stay even further away from cigarettes.
