If this was cleaned up, not on lined paper, maybe the photo was edited to make it look less like just a picture or optimally if it was scanned, this would be the framework for a really good piece of art. The anatomy/composition and particular blockiness of the shapes fits well into the way people see cartoons nowadays, I think this image would actually be recognized as really nice and trendy, but like I said, being drawn on lined paper, taken a photo of it, isn't the best. Yes it looks like his neck is broken or something but that's really not that much to worry about,I think coloring it and cleaning up the spaces on the black areas where you can tell you scribbled it in would add more simple charm. While the pose looks a little unnatural, in a way since he is supposed to be swinging, it could be seen as natural and just the way the cartoon style is supposed to make it look. don't worry about being impressive, just enjoy what you do and keep drawing more

..........woah
This is the most criticsim That i got.its kinda overwhelming.
Yeah the lined paper is kinda distracting And really break the piece.
And i'm just too poor to buy scanners(my parents are poor).
I actually scared of coloring since i never did it well And linework Ain't my thing (i'm kinda of a perfectionist if a line ain't conpleted i have to completed) And it lents to me going out of like And as a solución just making the línea ticcer.
I want to be impresive since you kno it's tradicional art with monochromes And not super colored nicely looking digital art,i feel since i don't go digital (monetary reason, Argentina not the best economy) i need to make it more than just a character standing.
But thank for the review(tougth 3,5 Stars is a little to much in my opinión)

I love the way that the colors seem bold yet soft at the same time, the style reminds me of cave story. the animation itself seems a little jerky, but also really fluid when you concentrate on it a little closer. your art style would be great for a video game, but of course, it is really great on its own as an art piece. I think the way that the things in the foreground and larger pieces of the background that seem closer to the point of perspective are simpler and the things further away and that are more in the background/less the focal point being more detailed is something that really brings it together and makes it pleasing to the eye and engaging in a way that just makes you feel good looking at this, and want to keep staring at it. great work, keep doing what you do !!

clarigaricus responds:

Thank you for your kind words. The animation is jerky, yes. I think I messed up the gif capture a bit. Funny enough, she is one of the characters I designed for Aftertile, the game I'm currently developing. That's also the reason why the background look simpler in comparison to the others, it's because I designed that map trying to focus on visual easiness. It's great to know that the piece feels good to look at, it means a lot to me. Thanks again!

fav'd for luis

ScepterDPinoy responds:

He's a great influence tbh.

This is super dank. While it's simple and you can tell it was put together quickly, it just looks so good that I expected it to be in the art portal until I looked closer and realized you could've made this like really really fast. I guess in a way this is part of my concept of art that made me feel like I saw things in a different way than a lot of other people online, is that sometimes something that can be made really quickly with not a lot of effort is put together in a way that has a really great style and a lot of tact and can be reasonably praised far beyond what it deserves just because it came out artfully. Good work!

PsychedelicSamurai responds:

Thanks! I end up doing a lot of quick stuff like this to step aside from animation projects, or for a warm up.

Slightly confused as to the plot and the text in the word bubble on the bottom right, but it is exciting seeing the art get better with each new page and watching the story unfold. You are doing great, keep it up! I am very happy to see you have reached 4 pages, stay motivated and inspired!! Pay attention to the things that make you feel good about creating that come from your own mind and from within, not from external sources of validation, and you will be able to locate your inner creative passion!! Hope to see this continue for as long as you enjoy making it!!!

TOONspy responds:

She was supposed to be yell rambling but I guess i should've add more text than cut off text, but thank you for all the support!!

very thought provoking. the staging isn't that bad but it is excellent that you are being realistic with yourself and setting goals to push yourself to be better. very thought provoking. after inktober ends you should flesh this out and clean up the linework and add color and I think a lot more people would really pay attention to it, maybe you could rework the staging then and it would satisfy you to accomplish that.

hreyas responds:

yes , for sure ,I ll try to do if time permits .

This is awesome. Obviously not everyone is going to have a taste for the hand drawn style, looks like it was colored with colored pencils maybe, but I feel like it is very effective and the whole art style fits together in a menacing way that connects with the theme very strongly. All the doodles in the background make a nice bedding for the image to lay on, i guess i could word it that way, and everything meshes together very well despite not being a davinci piece or what have you, there is a lot of style here.

MaoDaMighty responds:

Thanks man. I used water colour pencil crayons. I love em, they give a nice wash out effect to the colour value.

this texture is godly and everything in the world should look like this
